We had never heard of the Forest of Dean Crematorium before a couple of weeks ago. but when my husband died I decided to investigate. The facilities looked lovely and 'the Forest' meant a lot to us, so I asked Greenfields to look into booking a slot with you. My husband's celebration of life, took place today at 9.30 and my daughter and I were over the moon at the outstanding surroundings, service and facilities you have. Everything was so peaceful and serene. Earlier in the week I was 'gobsmacked at the fact there was virtually an hours slot. Your staff must have been there but were so unobtrusive we didn't know they were there. We had an unusual selection of music and had tried to let them k now approximate timings and I don't know if the 'hit the beat' we had selected but what they did was perfect and worked wonderfully. May daughter and I want to thank you for making a horrendous experience into something that can be treasured. as there was no feeling of 'having to get done'. My husband was a very 'early bird' so being able to have an early slot was so appropriate. I am so pleased we were able to experience such a feeling of tranquillity in a stress free environment. A great big thank you to everyone at The Forest of Dean Crematorium.

I am a Civil Celebrant working in the Forest of Dean and spend a lot of time taking services at the Crematorium in the Forest. I had to organize a service which was one of the hardest ones I have had to do in the last 4 years. It required not only delicate handling but a complete makeover of the chapel. I have to say that the service was a complete success due entirely to the staff at the Crematorium who worked very hard to make this work. Hannah in particular went the extra mile, not only accommodating and professional but taking the trouble to me family, find out exactly what they wanted and help them to achieve that, organizing all the little extras that made a difference. Hannah changed the chapel seating, bringing in cushions and blankets and extra lighting and when she had finished it was exactly as the family had envisaged.

Complaints Procedure

1. STAGE 1

In the unlikely event that you feel that we haven't fulfilled your expectations please use the following complaints procedure.

Always complain 'on the spot' if you have the opportunity. If you cannot do this yourself, you may be able to use your minister/officient or funeral director as your advocate. If you fail to obtain a satisfactory response, move to the next stage.

 

2. STAGE 2

Contact the Crematorium Manager, by telephone or write to him/her at our office. He/she will respond to any official complaint in writing within three working days.

3. STAGE 3

If you believe that your grievance has still not been properly addressed then you should write to our Managing Director at the following address:
